While this 1972 Triumph TR6 is listed as having 15 owners, it seems that only the first, second and third ones did the majority of the mileage as all MoTs with the car show minimum use; since 1995 it has only covered around 7000 miles. Currently, the odometer shows 72,540 miles. The TR6 was involved in a minor accident in 2023 requiring a new front wing, bonnet and front panel. No mechanical damage was done. The car was repaired by the insurance company and a full bare metal repaint carried out. It is HPI clear. Photos of the work are included in the paperwork file, including showing it in bare metal. The interior is original and in good order. The hood is the original factory item (and there's a hood cover in the ...  boot) but has shrunk slightly so is a tight fit, while the engine has been converted to unleaded specification. During 2020 the fuel injection system was overhauled including the fitment of a modern fuel pump and reconditioned metering unit. The original fuel pump is still in including the pipework and could be reused if needed. A stainless steel exhaust has been fitted with custom-made free-flow rear silencer. Four new Continental tyres were fitted in 2022 and have covered around 3000 miles since.

The TR6 was in the Coventry Transport Museum between 1981 and 1989. The vendor tells us that the car is in good mechanical condition and is running very well and reliable. It was driven 50 miles to the sale. Being registered in September 1972, the TR6 was built in the last two weeks of CP model production and so benefits from the gearbox being fitted with stronger Stag internals but mated with the original A-type overdrive, including overdrive on second gear. The last MoT expired in January 2025 after being tested the year before at an indicated 70,195 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Triumph is now MoT-exempt.

Paperwork includes the V5C, technical data, two owner's handbooks, a photo album of the rebuild and repaint, many invoices and selected MoTs back to 1995.
