Ford was na de 2e Wereldoorlog de eerste die weer met een auto kwam na de oorlogsproductie. De vierdeurs waar ze mee kwamen was een upgrade van het model uit 1941. Later kwamen de coupe en de convertible. Deze auto's werden in 1946 en 1947 weer aangepast. Tweede helft 1948 kwam er een nieuw model dat het bouwjaar 1949 meekreeg.
De 1947 en 1948 modellen van de Ford Super DeLuxe verschilden uiterlijk maar weinig van het 1946 model. Zo verdwenen de rood ingekleurde verticale groeven uit de vleugel boven de drie horizontale strips in de grille. De parkeerlichtjes waren nu rond van vorm en werden onder de koplampen geplaatst. De auto kreeg nieuwe wieldoppen en de twee horizontale strips boven de kentekenplaat op het kofferdeksel verdwenen. Dit exemplaar heeft een Motor-Lift Top, hetgeen wil zeggen dat het cabriolet dak door een simpele druk op de knop kon worden geopend en gesloten. Deze Ford is in 1948 gebouwd als één van de laatste van de serie 1945 - 1948. Ford bood deze auto aan voor de basisprijs van $1,635.00. In totaal zijn van dit type 12.033 exemplaren geproduceerd.
Dit model is geleverd in een prachtige 'Maize Yellow'. Samen met het lichtbruine lederen interieur is het echt een terugblik in de tijd. De L-head V-8 motor loopt erg mooi. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war Ford der erste, der mit einem Auto aus der Kriegsproduktion zurückkam. Der Viertürer, den sie entwickelten, war eine Weiterentwicklung des Modells von 1941.
